KOA GLASS ADHESIVE PRODUCTS |
|
Product Information ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT TECHNOLOGY KOA products are a popular light curing adhesive that cures via long wavelength ultraviolet radiation (365 nanometers). This is a range considered safe to work with as compared to medium wavelength (UV-B) used in sun tanning or short wavelength used for germicide purposes. We do suggest the use of UV protected eyeglasses when using your ultraviolet curing lamp. Ultraviolet light is part of our environment, found in sunlight. We do not recommend using sun-light as a source of UV energy to cure any of our KOA products. Unprotected and prolonged exposure to any form of UV light, sunlight and long wavelength can result in cataracts and possibly cancer. We suggest the use of a wavelength of 470 uW/cm² at six inches (15 cm). This type of lamp has shown to cure KOA products in two or three minutes. PLEASE TEST BEFORE BEGINNING PROJECT APPLICATION
LONG WAVELENGTH ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT CURING LAMPS When using KEMXERT's KOA products, an ultraviolet light curing lamp emitting long wavelength (UV-A) peaking at 365 nanometers must be used to cure the UV glue and obtain adhesion. The sun is a poor substitute for UV-A energy. We are offering, at a reasonable price, ultraviolet light curing lamps. Their practical design and ease of operation assures hours of trouble-free use. These low intensity lamps will cure our KOA products within two to three minutes. We recommend these low intensity lamps to cure our products by the Glass Artist because of their low cost. Higher intensity lamps will cure faster but are more expensive. KOA products should be stored at a temperature range of 70-75° F in a dark place or away from an ultraviolet light source. KOA 300 has shelf life of ten months. Shelf life on all other grades is one year. |
